Ljubljana, Wednesday, 20-06-2012
From 20 to 23 June 2012, the next atelier of the collaboration project MusMA – Music Masters on Air is organised in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The project brings together some of the most influential European festivals. Its goal is to promote young composers of contemporary music from different European countries through exchange, and to create a network to promote the new composers and musicians. As patron of this upcoming MusMA event, renowned Sir Simon Rattle will participate in the atelier. It is hosted by the Ljubljana Festival which kicks off its 60th edition on 20 June with a concert by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Sir Simon Rattle.
The gathering marks the official start of the third MusMA cycle and involves festivals and composers from Belgium, Serbia, Spain, Slovenia, Turkey, Poland, Switzerland and Croatia.
The atelier participants will have the opportunity to take part in workshops, master classes and lectures. The atelier will close with a concert with performances of all MusMA III works, held in the Linhart Hall of Cankarjev Dom.
One of the main features of the MusMA project is the collaboration with radio stations all over Europe. The final concert will be transmitted by Radio Slovenia and the recording will reach across Europe via the members of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
