Yerevan Perspectives International Music Festival

Current 13th edition highlights are Concertgebouw Orchestra with Lorin Maazel, Wiener Philharmoniker, Evgeny Kissin, Tokyo String Quartet. Festival Academy will launch its educational and residence programs in Byurakan village. The Festival President is composer Stepan Rostomyan. The Honorary President is Valery Gergiev. The Festival patron is the President of Armenian Republic Serzh Sargsyan.

This festival has been an EFA member since 2007.

History

Established in 2000, Yerevan Perspectives (previously known as Perspectives XXI), is leading in region and а worldwide international music festival that presents top class musicians of classical, contemporary, sacred and jazz music in Armenia. Armenia being one of the origins of civilization and possessing a rich culture of thousands years, became a platform for our mission to transfer Yerevan into one of the powerful cultural centers of the world.
Festival presented Placido Domingo, Gergiev, Eschenbach, Foster with Mariinsky Symphony, Royal Philharmonic, Schleswig Holstein, Gulbenkian Orchestras, Julian Rachlin, Pinchas Zukerman, Yuri Bashmet, Gidon Kremer with Kremerata, Olli Mustonen, Denis Matsuev, Boris Berezovsky, Sergey Nakariakov, Mischa Maisky, Steven Isserlis, Kronos, Tokyo, Borodin, Shanghai, Hagen, Arditti Quartets, London Sinfonietta, Vienna Boys Choir, Hilliard Ensemble, Kings Singers, among others. Music Days of great living composers is a unique project presenting more than two dozens of pieces of each composer with participation of Krzysztof Penderecki, Sofia Gubaidulina, Rodion Shchedrin, Giya Kanchelli. Jazz & other projects brought George Benson, All Jarreau, Joe Cocker, Lara Fabian, Goran Bregovic, Cesaria Evora.
