Cena Meetings, International Space for Cultural and Artistic Exchange, from 29-31 August in Brasília

19 June 2013

From 29 to 31 August 2013, Cena Contemporânea – Festival Internacional de Teatro de Brasília – presents its Cena meetings – International Space for Cultural and Artistic Exchange. These meetings, renowned for being a privileged space for the international exchange of cultural projects, will bring to Brasília around 60 foreign and national professionals, institutions, artists, producers, programmers and cultural managers.

Over the last few years, Cena Meetings has come to be an important platform to think about international culture and artistic affairs, as well as an inspiring space for the exchange and circulation of international projects. In 2011, this event highlighted the mechanisms for international cooperation and funding, and in 2012 the main subject was the exchange between Africa and Latin America – challenges and opportunities. In 2013, the focus will be on the transforming action of artistic projects from all around the world, which had an impact in a significant way in urban, political and social landscapes in different cultures and territories. Participants will get to know and discuss these inspiring initiatives, shared by artists, festivals’ representatives and international managers.

Cena Contemporânea’s 14th edition will be held from 20 August to 1 September 2013. The festival will present 12 international shows, 9 of which presented for the first time in Brazil – and 17 national theatre, dance and music performances. Throughout its history, the festival has established itself as a reference by offering a quality programme and by fostering an intense exchange between the groups invited and local artists, through collaboration and training. The complete programme will be available soon at www.cenacontemporanea.com.br
