Signing Ceremony Stockholm, 15 November 2008
Stockholm, 15 November 2008
Just two days before the project Arts Festivals’ Declaration on Intercultural Dialogue was presented in Paris, where EFA – together with European Commissioner for Culture Ján Figel’ and 20 major European festivals – gave new impetus to the unique project in a festive ceremony, the Declaration travelled to Sweden.
On 15 November 2008 in Stockholm, Swedish festivals signed the Declaration and committed officially to its objectives. The signing ceremony took place in the framework of the celebrations of the 20th Anniversary of the Swedish Music Festivals Association. The text was signed by about 20 festivals.
The 8th signing ceremony of Stockholm was preceded by signing ceremonies in Slovenia (Ljubljana), Estonia (Tallinn), Norway (Oslo), Turkey (Antalya), again Slovenia (Brezice), Belgium (Ghent) and Great Britain (Liverpool).
Festivals will still be able to demonstrate their commitment beyond 2008! The Declaration website will stay active and festivals can still sign the text: Their signature will be added to the ever growing list of signing parties which will be published on the Declaration website. Don’t hesitate to sign up!
