Opening of Atelier IZMIR 2011 takes place today

The European Festivals Association (EFA) and this edition’s host, the İzmir Foundation for Culture Arts and Education (İKSEV), warmly invite the press and the public to the Opening Ceremony of the Atelier with Mr. Aziz Kocaoğlu, Mayor of İzmir, Mr. Mustafa Cahit Kıraç, Governor of İzmir, Mr. Darko Brlek, President of EFA, Ms. Filiz Sarper, President of İKSEV. Ms Robyn Archer (Australia) and Ms Rose Fenton (UK) will deliver speeches paving the floor for an intense week of work and exchanges. Read ahead.


Outstanding programme awaiting participants and presenters alike

The mentors of the Atelier prepared an intense programme for the participants with talks, workshops, case study discussions, lectures, meetings with Turkish artists and a cultural programme digging into Izmir’s arts life. Read ahead!


38 young festival managers from 26 countries attending IZMIR 2011

Coming from Australia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Lebanon, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Singapore, Slovenia, South-Africa, Spain, Netherlands, Turkey, Uganda, United Kingdom and the USA, the participants have the chance to develop a unique international network thanks to the Atelier.


Eight renowned festival managers from all over the world on board for IZMIR 2011

In the run-up of the Atelier we introduced the eight festival managers attending the Atelier to share their rich experiences with the next generation of festival directors. At a glance:
