Mons (P)KINKY ORCHESTRA - Ars Musica calls for projects

Ars Musica, Belgium’s reference International Contemporary Music Festival, in collaboration with Le Manège and Musiques Nouvelles in Mons, are creating a new orchestra: The Mons KINKY PINKY ORCHESTRA.

We will commission 10 works for a project based on your favourite pop, rock, folk, funk or punk song or tune!

The orchestra is composed of 2 violins, viola, cello, double bass, keyboards (synths and classical piano, 1 performer), guitar (both electric and acoustic, 1 performer), 2 percussions, clarinet, saxophone, french horn, trombone, + different voices.

Interested?

Send us your project mentioning the name of the song inspiring you, the instruments you wish to use, and the reason why these sounds interest you. An ad hoc artistic committee will pick out 5 Belgian and 5 non-Belgian composers (based on the project description). We will get back to you, and only then you’ll be able to write the score and parts.

For you to have even more fun, we will pay the selected ones a fee of 500 euros.

You are responsible for obtaining eventual rights; we only produce the concert of your music.
We will broadcast the concert through our website, real time.
