Haydn at Eszterháza
The founder of the Hungarian Haydn Society (HHS) and of the “Haydn at Eszterháza” Festival was the late Kálmán Strém, a renowned concert organiser. Since 1998, the main aim of the HHS has been to maintain a festival which conjures up Haydn’s musical world at an important venue of his life, on period instruments and on the highest artistic level. Since early 2008, the state agency Hungarofest does the practical organisation, while the programming remains with an expert body selected by the HHS.
This festival has been an EFA member since 2002.
