D-Marine Turgutreis International Festival of Classical Music
D-MARIN TURGUTREİS INTERNATIONAL
CLASSICAL MUSIC FESTIVAL
Organised at a marina, the classical music festival is the first and only of its kind…
D-Marin Turgutreis International Classical Music has been organized every year since 2005 at the D-Marin in Turgutreis under the founding sponsorship of the Doğuş Group to help promote classical music in Turkey and to bring it to wider audiences and facilitate Turkish artists in producing world-class achievements.
The festival venues at a marina, is the first and only one of its kind. The festival consisting of a total of seven concerts including sunset and evening concerts over four days retains its distinctive place in Turkey by featuring nothing but classical music.
Reaching audiences of 7,000 people in its first year, 12,000 people in its second, 13,500 people in its third, and 14,100 people in its fourth, the festival was admitted to the European Festivals Association (EFA) in its fifth year drawing 15,000 people. Interest in the festival kept growing with 17,250 and 18,000 people in its sixth and seventh years respectively. The festival audiences reached 20,500 and 21,000 people at its eighth and ninth years. The festival organized for the tenth time in 2014, reached 21,500 people. The festival won the “Classical Music Event of the Year Award” at the 2012 Donizetti Classical Music Awards organized by the Andante magazine and “Regional Special Award” at the Skalite Awards in the same year.
Support for social responsibility realized through proceeds from the concerts is continued on a local and international level as in previous years. All proceeds from the sale of the 10th D-Marin Turgutreis International Classical Music Festival tickets were donated to Tohum Autism Foundation and Bodrum Health Foundation this year as well.
The goal is to create a growing interest in the festival in the years to come, thereby helping classical music reach wider audiences and to bring international artists and orchestras together with Turkish audiences.
This festival has been an EFA member since 2009.
Each EFA member manages its own Calendar. In case there is no programme availabable for this year, please visit the festival's own website.
