REMA announces its Grand Audition 2010

The purpose of the GRAND AUDITION of REMA, the European Early Music Network, is to create a platform for all experienced European early music ensembles wanting to be auditioned by REMA member European festival organisers.

The first edition of the REMA GRAND AUDITION will take place on Saturday 24 April 2010 at the Versailles Centre de Musique Baroque, near Paris. Ten European ensembles will be auditioned.

The REMA GRAND AUDITION is open to experienced early music ensembles, playing on early music instruments according to historically informed criteria.


CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

• Early music ensembles (from a country in the European Community) playing on early music instruments according to historically informed criteria (HIP).
• The European ensembles must finance their participation themselves, as well as all transport and accommodation expenses
• Rehearsals possible on 21, 22 and 23 April at the CMBV
• Run-throughs on 24 April at CMBV


SELECTION

Ten ensembles will be selected by the REMA members according to democratic criteria, taking into account the interest and quality of the ensembles.

The ensembles with the most votes will be selected, ensuring a good representation of European countries.

The deadline for receiving the documentation is Monday 11 January 2010 at 12:00.

The selection will be announced on Monday 8 February 2010 by E-mail.
