Jorge Losana was born in Murcia in 1986. He is a singer, conductor, music comunicator and cultural entrepreneur. In 2016 he founded the vocal group Cantoría, specialized in Iberian Renaissance music. They have offered concerts in many European countries and have recently presented their first album "Ensaladas de Mateo Flecha El Viejo", recorded at the Ambronay Cultural Center (France), which has won the prestigious "Diapason Découverte" award and the "Preis del Schallplattenkritik".
Jorge Losana is also director of the ECOS International Festival of Sierra
Espuña, which brings together every summer the best of young international
early music talent in the Region of Murcia, as well as the Baroque Orchestra
and the Historical Music Workshop of the University of Murcia.
After a few years as a visitor at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende
Kunst Mannheim, he studied a Higher Degree in Choir Conducting at the Murcia
Conservatory of Music, Music Education at the University of Murcia and a Higher
Degree in Classical and Contemporary Singing at the Escuela Superior de Música
de Catalunya, in Barcelona, where he has also specialized in Historical Singing
by studying the Master's Degree in Interpretation of Ancient Music. He
concluded his studies with the Master of Advanced Vocal Ensemble Studies at the
Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, in Basel (Switzerland).
He regularly collaborates with national and international media and
actively participates in national and international discussion forums about
music, youth and the sustainable development goals.
He has conducted choirs such as the Schola Cantorum Alfonso X “El Sabio”,
the Cathedral of Murcia Escolanía, University of Murcia Choir or the Cororao
vocal group, among others, and has produced international recordings for labels
such as Deutsche Gramophon, Carus Verlag, Ambronay Productions or Rondeau
