Workshop on environmental sustainability - Arts Festivals Summit 2022
The workshop "Festivals & environmental sustainability: what's out there?" will dig into different initiatives and present best practices coming from the festival sector. This workshop is co-developed in collaboration with Pearle*.
Wednesday, 14 September 2022 | 14.00-16.00
Armenia Marriott Hotel Yerevan, Yerevan
In these last years, the topic of sustainability was on the agenda of many festivals and other cultural organisations. In many countries, wonderful and important initiatives have been initiated with the aim to contribute to international Climate Goals.
In the first part of the sustainability workshop, some of these initiatives will be presented and discussed.
In the second part, we go a bit deeper to explore ways of how to professionally work in a sustainable way. What is the role of the cultural sector and how can we not only make an effort but rather make a substantial contribution to Climate Change Goals without getting lost in unhelpful detail? How can we get prepared for the next years in terms of sustainability and how to shift a whole sector towards climate neutrality without losing sight of the essentials: live audiences and sparkling experiences, intercultural dialogue and cultural cooperation?
