"Yerevan Perspectives" International Music Festival in recognized worldwide for its highest artistic level and pioneering activity. The Festival presented in Yerevan top class musicians and orchestras of our days such as Vienna Philharmonic and Royal Concertgebouw Orchestras, Mariinsky Symphony and Berlin Staatskapelle, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and Royal Philharmonic London, conductors Lorin Maazel, Valery Gergiev, Zubin Mehta, Daniel Barenboim, Michel Tilson Thomas, Christoph Eschenbach, soloists Evgeny Kissin, Pinchas Zukerman, Maxim Vengerov, Joshua Bell, Placido Domingo, Dmitry Hvorostovsky, among other great musicians, quartets, choirs. The Festival also presented special concert series dedicated to great living composers having in program week long Days of Krzysztof Penderecki, Sofia Gubaidulina, Rodion Shchedrin, Gia Kancelli. In 2015 April the Festival Academy was opened in Byurakan, which presents cultural and educational projects of international standing. Festival concerts happen in Spring and Autumn. The Festival was founded in 2000 with name “Perspectives XXI” and was renamed to Yerevan Perspectives in 2010. Composer Stepan Rostomyan is founding president and artistic director of the Festival. Yerevan Perspectives patron is president of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan. Occasionally the Festival presented in Armenia some of the finest jazz and pop musicians such as George Benson, All Jarreau, Joe Cocker, Charlez Aznavour, Patricia Kaas, Lara Fabian, Goran Bregovic.
