Nicolas BERTRAND (1974) is a manager and independent consultant in international cultural cooperations. Since 2018, he accompanies the European strategy and projects of the Festival d’Ambronay (Baroque and Early music), in particular by running the international programme EEEMERGING+ supporting young music talents and by designing the first Rencontres d’Ambronay on the fruitful links between rural development and professional integration.
Nicolas also advises artistic groups and cultural institutions for their international projects in the performing arts and music (including Cie CMPTA-Mathurin Bolze, Institut des Croisements-Arkadi Zaides, Fundacio CIMA-Jordi Savall, Teatru Malta), heritage (European network of Royal residencies) and community development fields (Clermont 2028 - ECOC candidate city).
He is deeply involved in several European networks : A Soul for Europe (Strategy group member, organisation of four Fora in Lyon), IETM (organisation of the first post-pandemic Plenary meeting in Lyon, October 2021).
From 2001 to 2018, he was Managing Director of the theatre group Image Aiguë. He designed and directed several EU funded projects in Europe, Morocco, Georgia. He is also regularly involved in grass-root cultural projects : cultural center Tango de Soie (Lyon, since 2009), Das Haus - a house for the Berliner independent scene in Avignon (2014)...
