Official Invitation

As in previous years, EFA members enjoy a preferential treatment offered by the host (ChinaSPAF). It includes accommodation in a 4-star hotel for 5 nights, airport pick-up and drop-off service, meals, local transportation (only long distance, not to InterContinental Puxi), as well as a full artistic, cultural and social programme during the 5 days.
This all for a special price of USD 200/person (regular price: USD 775/person). (only valid for the first delegate per EFA Member)

EFA Members will have the chance to discover a rich and exciting programme including many showcases of Chinese and international artists (both traditional and contemporary), but also a boat cruise on the Huangpu River alongside the Bund and many other activities. Check out the draft programme and the introductions of two confirmed highlighted showcases here: Rite of Spring (Yang Liping) and Shanghai Odyssey – The Story of the Bund (Christian Jost/Shanghai Chinese Orchestra)!

Please note that the activities with a star sign are the ones recommended by the ChinaSPAF Festival Committee. With your EFA delegate pass, you will have access to all programme activities except for the ones marked with "ticket only". For those activities it is needed to request a complementary ticket(s) directly to the performing groups! Please find the contact details of the relevant performing groups on the bottom of this webpage. 

Moreover this year there is the special occasion to witness, participate or observe in the first Atelier for Young Festival and Cultural Managers, taking place from 17-23 October in Shanghai, in collaboration with the China Shanghai International Arts Festival and supported by the Ministry of Culture of China and the EU’s Cultural Diplomacy Platform. You will have the chance to meet some 40 young festival managers coming from China and the rest of the world and to hear from them what the issues at stake are for this upcoming generation.

The EFA Delegation will be accommodated in the Holiday Inn Shanghai Downtown (585 Heng Feng Road, Zhabei, Shanghai), which is located at a 5min. walk from the InterContinental Shanghai Puxi (500 Heng Feng Road, Zhabei, Shanghai) where most programme activities will take place (main venue).
For the programme activities outside the main venue (e.g. Boat Cruise Welcome Reception and Opening Ceremony), a bus shuttle service will be at your disposal departing from the InterContinental Shanghai Puxi.

A pick-up and drop-off service at the Airport will be foreseen for all EFA delegates. In order to guarantee this service (as well as a correct hotel reservation), we need you to send us (lennart@efa-aef.eu) your flight details as soon as your registration is made.

Please contact your local Chinese Embassy or Consulate-General on time (2 months before departure)! Chinese Visa Application requirements are different in each country, so please do not wait to inform yourself at your local Chinese Embassy or Consulate-General.
