KharkivMusicFest is an annual classical music festival presenting famous Ukrainian and international artists in the second largest city of Ukraine. The festival strives to create new cultural bridges between different regions of Ukraine as well as with other countries.
KharkivMusicFest has an important mission to develop numerous educational activities too. These are cycles of lectures about music for children and adults, the first in Ukraine Children’s Symphony Orchestra, and the Lyatoshynsky competition for young composers.
A distinctive feature of the festival is the obligatory performance of music by Ukrainian composers, both classical and modern.
The festival was founded in 2018 and it is a symbol of the art triumph over destruction. In March 2022, the festival was symbolically opened with a «Сoncert between the explosions», which took place in a subway bomb shelter.
