Chopin Piano FEST Prishtina 2012 running from 12 April to 5 May

Chopin Piano FEST “Prishtina”2012 is a festival of pianism established for the first time on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Chopin in 2010 by the Kosovar Chopin Association. Because of its great success and appreciation by the audience in Kosovo, a decision was taken to make it a traditional piano festival which is held in springtime every year. In 2011, the ChopinPianoFEST “Prishtina” honored also the 200th anniversary of Franz Liszt another piano genius. The festival is highly considered by critics, fans and the growing audience as an excellent presentation of the mastery of piano, offering interpretations by both world renowned pianists and local talents. Launching the third edition in 2012, the Piano FEST Prishtina 2012 will as usual consist of piano works not only of Chopin, but also other well known composers, classical and contemporary ones. Chopin Piano FEST Prishtina 2012 will take place from April 12, 2012 with two to three event nights during each week of the month until May 5th, 2012 when the closing concert awards also the prizes for the composing competition on piano works for young Kosovo composers. The festival will offer concerts, master classes with students and scientific symposiums dedicated to the life and work of piano works and composers. With the adequate support from institutions and businesses that value cultivated arts and see a good opportunity of self-promotion, the ChopinPianoFEST Prishtina 2012 will further outshine its success of the past years.
