European Early Music Network announces Showcase 2013

24 July 2012

The European Early Music Network (REMA) announces its next REMA Showcase – a showcase for young European artists which takes place every two years. The next edition will take place in Marseille, France, from 15 to 17 March 2013. Application deadline is 15 October 2012. It is a unique opportunity for young talents of early music to present themselves in front of a broad selection of European early music promoters. To meet as many festival or concert hall directors early in their career is a considerable chance. It can take many years to get these contacts. REMA is also offering during a year its support for communication, for contacts with the REMA members and for advice. The ensembles who participated in the REMA SHOWCASES in 2007, 2009 and 2011 were invited by many REMA members enabling them to enter the programmes of the European Festivals of early music. All members of the ensembles should be born after 1.01.1977. No fee will be paid for the participation of the ensembles but REMA and the host of the showcase will provide meals and accommodation for one night and the reimbursement of travels under certain conditions, for a maximum of 5 participants. The instrument (harpsichord and organ) will also be provided for the concerts and the rehearsals. Each selected ensemble will be asked to perform a 25-minute programme. How to apply? Please send before 15 October to info@rema-eemn.net • a recording (mp3) with 3 minutes of music • a picture and short biography of the ensemble • the names and countries of origin of the members of the ensemble Selection process The REMA board (which consists of 14 members) will listen to the recordings, and select 8 ensembles to perform at the showcase. Results will be announced on 19 November 2012. More information can e found on the REMA website, or, contact Helena De Winter, info@rema-eemn.net, +33 1 39 20 78 03
