As a member of the European Festivals Association, we believe that we share the common significant objectives of EFA in artistic, cultural and social aspects. We believe multidisciplinary arts can create, establish, enrich, and promote cultural links and mutual understanding between Turkey and Europe. EFA is a unique organisation for festivals having a common agenda in a global context. To celebrate EFA’s Diamond Jubilee we dedicated the final concert of the 8th Dr. Nejat Eczacıbaşı National Composition Contest which encourages young contemporary Turkish composers and has contributed over 150 new symphonic works to our polyphonic music,” underlines Filiz Eczacıbaşı Sarper, President of İKSEV. “EFA is delighted to see so many of its members celebrating the Association’s Diamond Jubilee all over Europe and beyond,” states EFA Secretary General Kathrin Deventer, drawing attention to another highlight: “We are looking forward to the last moment of celebration together with our members in Brussels, on 16/17 November, at the occasion of the Brussels Conversations. The two-day conference is set up by the European House for Culture, which EFA initiated in 2008, and its partners to discuss our role in advancing a ‘Citizens’ Europe’.” Have a look at the EFA Photo Galleries and get an impression of how festivals celebrate “EFA 60 Years On”.
