Alexander Schubert wins ECPNM Competition

At the final concert of the 5th European Competition for Live Electronic Music Projects 2012, organised by the European Conference of Promoters of New Music (ECPNM) on 3 November in Antwerp, Belgium in the framework of the ISCM World Music Days, five works were performed: works by Ilya Ziblat, Robert Rusconi, Jasna Velickovic, Alexander Schubert and Marco Dunnarumma. They were selected by the jury, consisting of Helmut Erdmann, Miguel Azguime and Henk Heuvelmans. At the end of the concert the jury announced the winner of the competition: Alexander Schubert (1979, Germany) – "Bifurcation Fury" for electric bass guitar, live-electronics and live-video – 2012. This work was performed by John Eckhardt – el.bass guitar and the composer. Winning this competition means the work will get a guaranteed performance at festivals of ECPNM members in Portugal, Germany and the Netherlands. The competition for 2013 is open for works for harp and live-electronics. Deadline for entry of projects is 1 April 2013.
