Programme of the Concentus Moraviae Festival 2013 out now

28 January 2013

Italy comes to Moravia! From 1 to 29 June 2013, the 18th Concentus Moraviae International Music Festival of 13 Towns will invite its audience to attend 33 concerts performed by excellent musicians, many of whom will come to Moravia from Southern Europe. All of the invited performers share a passion for early music. The programme includes works by Italians and by composers of the 17th and 18th centuries who were significantly influenced by Italy. The audience will be introduced to music connected with specific Italian cities and will follow the trail which Italian composition has left on the Czech Republic, as well as discover the influence of Czech composers on Italy. “We believe that the magnificent châteaux, castles, picturesque churches and impressive cathedrals of 19 towns of the South Moravian and Vysočina Regions will create a perfect venue for the programmes of the 18th festival edition entitled ‘Italian Sun’. The dramaturgy is the work of the respected musician and populariser of early music, Václav Luks,” underlines Festival Director David Dittrich. In January 2013 the Concentus Moraviae Festival is introduced at the Regiontour exhibition in Brno and at MIDEM in Cannes (26-29 January).
