Bridging the gap from education and training to employment: European Music Council to host Youth Day

26 March 2013

On 18 April 2013 in Glasgow, UK, the European Music Council will be hosting a Youth Day ahead of the European Forum on Music (18-21 April 2013). The theme of this event will be: “Bridging the gap from education and training to employment” and the event is open to young people under the age of 30 working in all aspects of European music life from administration through to project management and performing. In particular, EMC members are encouraged to send young representatives under the age of 30 to take part in this as well as in the Forum itself. There will be a range of guest speakers delivering workshops and presentations on the key challenges facing young people in the sector today. This is a chance for participants to learn new skills, gain advice on ways forward in the sector and meet likeminded young people from across Europe. Themes covered in the workshops include: • fair internships and apprentiships • working in Europe and how to market yourself • life-long learning - what ongoing training opportunities are there across Europe. More information will be available soon.
