Sustainability is an ongoing experiment, one that is usually met, in my experience, with an effort of solution-based, open and creative thinking. In this light, the question across independent and community arts sectors remains, how can we create a festival, event or project that can be maintained while it is relevant? I suppose this brings up two points, so let’s consider ‘relevance’ another time and assume the project we are discussing is relevant and has appropriate context both in its artistic form and the place it is presented.
