Festival Production Management - Module III

27 November 2018

The third Module of the Festival Production Management Training came to end on 25 November in Santarcangelo, Italy.

An international group of 11 people having concluded Module I (an introductory session) and II (a placement at a festival) of the 3-Module programme met again in Santarcangelo to further discuss the challenges and development of their work together with experienced managers as Roy Luxford (Programme Director Edinburgh International Festival), Han Van Poucke (Head of Production Holland Festival) and of course the team of our host, Santarcangelo Festival.

The participants of Module III work for a variety of festivals in terms of scale, discipline and regions, The Festival Academy strongly believes that exchanging experiences, good practices between people working in different contexts is encouraging and inspiring, there were ample opportunities to meet people from the local scene and to engage in profound discussions with their peers, the facilitator, the two mentors and all guests involved in the training. The participants had the pleasure to discuss with production managers working in Italy for festivals or cultural organisation; visit venues in Santarcangelo and Ravenna during a day trip there; meet with inspiring artists from the region such as the Motus Company or Mutoid Waste Company.

During the intense three days, the different activities proposed to all participants as well as the various people met, resulted in a very rich and inspiring time and memories to last.
