EFA at the Annual Meeting of EMC

Kim Sargeant attended the Annual Meeting of the European Music Council (EMC), a cultural colleague network EFA is a member of. Please read Kim Sargeant’s report including the most remarkable conclusions of a very fruitful and encouraging meeting taking place in the framework of the European Conference on “Improvisation in Music” at the Royal Conservatoire of Music in The Hague. In the follow up of the EMC Annual Meeting 2004 in The Hague, The Netherlands, the European Music Office (EMC) has formulated recommendations concerning the new cultural program "Culture 2007" that the European Commission plans to launch in 2007. These recommendations are based on the discussions with the membership during the Annual Meeting 2004 in The Hague, The Netherlands. Furthermore, the EFMET project has produced another document concerning the integration of educational projects into the new cultural program of the EU. Please find the documents on the EMC website: EMC recommendations and EFMET recommendations. You can also find some documents concerning EMC’s next conference and Annual Meeting, taking place from 22 - 24 April 2005 in Budapest, Hungary. The EMC will offer its members the possibility to present model projects during this conference. The projects should be innovative and original and might come from any musical sector you can think of. An official invitation, as announced by EMC, to this event will follow soon.
