Armenia joins EFFE 2019-2020

9 October 2018

From 5-7 October EFA was in Yerevan to present the Festival Finder and EFFE 2019-2020 during the launch of the new Regional Platform for Arts Festivals in the Caucasus, hosted by the performing arts festival HighFest. Also EFA’s only Armenian Member, Yerevan Perspectives International Music Festival welcomes the opportunities of EFFE for Armenian festivals.

Sona Hovhannisyan, Managing Director of Yerevan Perspectives, says: “I’m happy that Armenian festivals from now on are also eligible for the EFFE Label and Awards. I recommend them to register on the Festival Finder and to apply for the label as of 7 November. All Arts and Music Festivals in Armenia will benefit from this official recognition.”

At the occasion EFA had the honor to attend a masterclass by the Vienna Boys Choir (Wiener Sängerknaben) in the Byurakan Art Academy for the 45 girls from the Little Singers of Armenia. Two days earlier they joined the Wiener Sängerknaben at the end of their concert in the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall in Yerevan. Composer Stephan Rostomyan, President and Art Director of Yerevan Perspectives International Music festival and founder of the Byurakan Art Academy, always dreamed of creating real opportunities for young Armenian artists by bringing great international artists to them!
