DiscoverEU, is an initiative of the European Commission launched in June 2018 that gives European youngsters turning 18 the opportunity to travel around Europe (28 EU Member States) by train. It aims to enable them to better understand Europe's diversity, enjoy its cultural richness, make new friends and get a sense of their European identity. EFA is a partner of the project and encourages its member festivals to offer the young travelers access to their festivals.

15 000 young people have been selected during the June application round and have travelled across Europe in the summer 2018. You can have a look at their stories on the DiscoverEU Facebook Group to get an idea of the enthusiasm it generates among young people. 

A new group of youngsters will travel in the 28 Member States between 15 April and 31 October 2019. Some lucky ones will be participate in the Armel Opera Festival, Ravenna Festival, MITO SettembreMusica, Les Festivals de Wallonie, Dubrovnik Summer Festival, George Enescu International Festival and Competition.
