EFA President Jan Briers held a keynote speech about collaboration between European and Asian festivals at the China Shanghai Performing Arts Festival on 17 October 2019.

Delegates  from all over the world came together again for the Forum dedicated to building connections between the two continents as well as to see the best of Asian arts in this framework.  The forum includes one keynote forum, 10 sub-forums, and one workshop and aims to address the resulting opportunities for creative transformation and innovation that worldwide artists now enjoy in a multipolar, globalized world.

The festival will still run until 22 October in Shanghai, China. The festival is a state-level annual international arts festival the leading annual marketplace for new work from China, connecting creators and arts professionals worldwide. 800 delegates, 473 organizations from 53 countries and regions, including directors from international arts festivals and venue presenters from all over the world, including EFA, were present in the last edition of the festival.
