This year’s festival offers a dynamic programme filled with captivating concerts, featuring famous violinists Leia Zhu and Clara-Jumi Kang, cellist Sophie Kauer, and pianist Antonio di Cristofano, performing alongside the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Sergey Smbatyan. Guest conductors Marco Crispo (Italy) and Marco Parisotto (Canada) will also grace the festival. One of the highlights of the festival will be a notable concert in partnership with UNICEF Armenia, where Sergey Smbatyan serves as National Ambassador.
Organised by “Aram Khachaturian” Cultural Foundation under the artistic direction of Sergey Smbatyan, with the support of Armenia’s Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, the festival has flourished into a key cultural event, celebrating classical music on an international platform.
Each year, the festival honors the legacy of composer Aram Khachaturian, showcasing his works alongside those of his contemporaries and other classical masters. Over the years, the Khachaturian International Festival has attracted some of the world’s most distinguished artists, including the legendary composer and conductor Krzysztof Penderecki, virtuoso violinist Zakhar Bron, internationally renowned violinist Maxim Vengerov, pianist Alexander Romanovsky, and even the celebrated actor John Malkovich.
Since joining the European Festivals Association in 2021, the Khachaturian International Festival has expanded its reach, gaining global recognition as a cultural landmark in the classical music world. This year’s edition promises to elevate its standing even further, reaffirming the festival's role as a vital hub for both local and international musical excellence.
