Festival Get Together

1 September 2006

The Annual Conference of the British Arts Festivals Association will take place in Cardiff, Wales, from 19 – 21 October. Members of The European Festivals Association will be very welcome at the conference, which provides a fantastic opportunity to interact with people running UK festivals and a chance to share experiences and swap ideas. This year the highlights will include Brian McMaster reflecting on “15 Misspent Years” at the helm of the Edinburgh International Festival and a keynote presentation from Robyn Archer who until recently was the artistic director of Liverpool 2008 on the conference theme “There’s a Place for Us”, which will explore the role of festivals in the communities in which they belong. Cardiff is a wonderful city to visit and the conference is being organised in association with the Cardiff International Festival of Musical Theatre, which will be taking place at the same time as the conference. The conference sessions will take place in the splendid surroundings of the Wales Millennium Centre and there will be plenty of networking opportunities built into the two-day event.
