Daniel Barenboim with First Discourses on Europe

Daniel Barenboim hold the first discourse on Europe dedicated to 'The Power of Music. Europe's commitment in the Middle East and in the world". As one of the sub-projects ideated in the follow-up of the Berliner Konferenz and as part of the "Berlin Process", the European Discourses aspire to produce specific results demonstrating that creating 'A Soul for Europe' is a worthwhile undertaking and that this ambitious objective can be met. Leading European intellectuals hold regular two to three times a year) public discourses on the idea and prospects of Europe with the heads of EU institutions. The initial session with Daniel Barenboim was hosted on January 29th 2007, with the contribution of the President of the European Parliament Hans-Gert Pöttering and the President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso in the presence of about 150 invited participants.
