Forum Belgrade 30 - 31 March 2007, Sava Centre, Belgrade, Serbia

We are pleased to announce the upcoming Forum Belgrade which will take place on the 30th and 31st of March, Sava Centre in Belgrade. Felix Meritis is producing this event in co-operation with the association Cultural Front, the “A Soul for Europe” initiative and other local and international partners. The first edition of the Forum Belgrade aims to asses and stimulate the impact of cultural activities and infrastructures on the regeneration of regional as well as local societies and economies. It will also implement the European context of this process. Furthermore, it will analyse innovative methods of co-operative interaction between civil society and politics, as successfully exercised by the “A Soul for Europe” initiative, under the conditions of the Balkan countries. Doris Pack and Hannes Swoboda, Members of the European Parliament, as well as Meglena Kuneva, Member of the European Commission, Dr. Erhard Busek, the Special Coordinator of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe, and Marijana Grandits, Director of WTI Democracy, the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe have already agreed to participate. A variety of civil society representatives, in particular the younger generation of cultural operators and artists from the South Eastern Europe region and Serbia will actively discuss the programme topics with contributors from the political and business sectors with the aim of creating a fruitful dialogue with all operators to foster international cultural cooperation and civil society building.
