REMA members signed Arts Festivals' Declaration

8 July 2008

What Independence Day is for the United States of America, is another important step in the course of the Intercultural Dialogue for the European Festivals Association. In Brezice (Slovenia) EFA’s network member REMA (Réseau Européen de Musique Ancienne) held its signing ceremony among its members. In the presence of the Minister of Economy – Mr. Andrej Vizjak – and the Mayor of the Brezice Municipality – Mr. Ivan Molan – early music festivals signed the Arts Festivals’ Declaration on Intercultural Dialogue in the framework of a ceremony held in the premises of the Brezice Castle. Early music festivals from Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium, France, Hungary and Slovenia will now carry out the flag of this so important issue. Following the Opening Signing Ceremony in Ljubljana in January, with stops in Estonia, Norway and Turkey, this is a next step on Slovene grounds of the belief in this Declaration and not the last one.
