LAUS POLYPHONIAE 08 Music in the Hanseatic cities / Age-old trade routes resound This August, Antwerp’s reputed early music festival Laus Polyphoniae spotlights the fascinating, musical past of the Hanseatic League. The Flanders Festival will lead its visitors on an enthralling journey from the North Sea to the Baltics. The concerts, which are conceived as imaginary visits to the Hanseatic towns of the middle ages and the renaissance, will offer a glimpse into the commercial seed-beds for thriving music scenes.
