SPIEGEL STRING QUARTET Founded in 1996, the Belgian Spiegel String Quartet quickly won international fame, performing concerts at Europe’s major halls and festivals, including the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, the Berliner Konzerthaus, De Doelen in Rotterdam, the Palace of Fine Arts in Brussels, deSingel in Antwerp and the Festival of Flanders. In addition to the great timeless masterpieces, the quartet’s repertoire includes less well-known Romantic pieces by Lekeu, Bloch, Franck etc., and contemporary compositions of Iannis Xenakis, Ivan Fedele and Matthias Pintscher. On Sunday the 11th of November 01 the Spiegel String quartet will bring the Swiss creation of the stringquartet OM of the Flemish composer Wim Henderickx. This concert will take place in the Radio Studio of the German Radio in Bern (DRS) at 7.30 pm and will be transmitted directly in Switserland and the South-Germany. In the next months the quartet will bring a number of portrait-concerts and after Matthias Pintscher finishes his operas for la Bastille and the Salzburger Festspiele, he will write a new quartet for the SSQ.
