An international promotion tour for the XIX edition of the "George Enescu" International Festival and Competition brings the festival to a series of European Capitals including Brussels, Paris, London, Rome, Vienna and Berlin. It is the first promotion tour in preparation of the "George Enescu" Festival. The first stop of the tour is Brussels: on 9 March a concert takes place at the Flagey and includes Vlad Stanculeasa (Violin) and Claudia Bara (piano). The "George Enescu" International Festival and Competition taking place in Bucharest is one of the most important cultural events in Romania. The 2009 edition runs from 30 August until 26 September, including symphonic and chamber music concerts, opera and ballet. It brings orchestras and artists from all over the world to Bucharest. The "George Enescu" International Competition in the categories piano, violin and composition takes place from 30 August until 6 September.
