On 27 March 2009 in Prague in the framework of the “Forum for Creative Europe”, the European Festivals Association (EFA) launches its FestLab for Creativity and Innovation, an initiative at the occasion of the European Year of Creativity and Innovation. European Commissioner for Education, Training, Culture and Youth, Ján Figel’, assigns 25 major European festivals from 15 different European countries with the FestLabPass: a Pass that commits festivals to act as laboratories of creativity and promoters of innovation. The presentations and discussions of the experts will be available at www.forumforcreativeeurope.cz. The conference aims at recognising the unique contribution of art and culture to the development and utilisation of Europe’s creative potential and at reinforcing the perception of art and culture as the primary source of inspiration for European creativity. The Forum for Creative Europe is prepared by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and the European Commission as a part of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the European Year of Creativity and Innovation 2009.
