Gaudeamus Music Week 2009: preliminary programme available

From 7-12 September 2009, the International Gaudeamus Music Week 2009 takes place in Amsterdam. The annual Gaudeamus Music Week (now presented by Music Center the Netherlands) focuses on music by young composers from all over the world. In addition to works by the young composers selected to compete for the Gaudeamus Prize, works by the jury members will be performed. Top ensembles such as Holland Symfonia, Nieuw Ensemble, Tokyo Sinfonietta, de ereprijs, KLANG, Ear Massage Percussion Quartet and VocaalLAB will take care of outstanding performances. The preliminary program can be found here. The jury selected 15 works from over 400 submissions by composers from many different countries. At the end of the festival, the jury awards the Gaudeamus Prize for the best work from the nominations. The winner will receive 4,500 Euro as a commission to write a composition for the International Gaudeamus Music Week 2010. The organisers launched an invitation to advertise in the programme book of Gaudeamus Music Week 2009.
