Registration for European Culture Forum now open

Today, the European Commission opened the registration for the Culture in motion conference on 28 September and the European Culture Forum on 29/30 September taking place in Brussels. The European Culture Forum aims to bring together around 600 participants from culture civil society, Member States and EU institutions. Aim of the EU's 2009 key cultural event is to take stock of progress in implementing the European Agenda for Culture. Keynote speeches, panel discussions and workshops will feed the debate built around the three strategic objectives of the agenda: Cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue; culture as a catalyst for creativity; and culture as a vital element in the EU’s international relations. The Culture Programme Conference “Culture in Motion” on 28 September will present past and ongoing projects (funded by Culture 2000 and the Culture Programme 2007-2013). Workshops and information sessions on various cultural topics will facilitate networking and the exchange of good practices. • Be present at the first ever EU Prize for Literature award ceremony attended by European Commission President José Manuel Barroso and Culture Commissioner Ján Figel' • Follow the debate in the European Culture Forum, together with participants from culture, civil society, Member States and EU institutions • Meet and share experiences with project promoters within your area of interest in interactive workshops • Visit the dynamic project exhibition • Find new partners • Enjoy excellent musical performances by prize-winning artist Jordi Savall, teaming up with European orchestras • Make a date with a Commission official and pose that question you've always wanted to ask • Are you a journalist?
