Access! initiative launches open consultation on European Agenda for Youth and Music

26 January 2011

The Working Group Youth (WGY) of the European Music Council (EMC) is currently working on the European Agenda for Youth and Music, the major outcome of the Access! project. An open consultation has been launched now. Access! aims to attract more attention to the issues directly affecting the lives of young people in the field of music and make a long-term contribution to the enhancement of youth participation in European music life. The participants of Access! European Youth Forum on Music in Turin (October 2010) had their say on what should go in the European Agenda for Youth and Music; their input was used to make a first draft. Whilst a wide range of interests and countries were represented at the forum, the WGY sees the need to widen the consultation to get as much feedback from as many individuals and organisations as possible from all parts of the sector in order to produce the most representative and effective document. Therefore, an open consultation has been set up, inviting more individuals and organisation to make a contribution. The consultation closes on Friday, 11 February 2011. The final European Agenda for Youth and Music will be launched soon after. More information on the Access! website
