Vacancy: AOIFE seeking secretary general

AOIFE the Association of Irish Festival Events, founded in 1993, is the voice of the festival & event sector throughout the island of Ireland. Currently representing in excess of 350 festivals and 80 service providers, AOIFE is now embarking on a major development programme to enhance the delivery of services to members with particular emphasis on the growth and sustainability of Member Festivals to optimise visitor traffic. To deliver this programme AOIFE now invites applications for the new professional position of: SECRETARY GENERAL The candidate appointed will: • Be an effective and able communicator, adept in diplomacy with proven interpersonal and management skills. • Possess superior organisational skills, demonstrated business acumen, self-motivation and tenacity. • Demonstrate previous success in results gained both personally and through motivating others. • Instil energy and enthusiasm into the Association and its interface with voluntary,statutory and commercial bodies at national and international level. • Have a strong “hands on” record of achievement in marketing or customer relationship management and significant personal flexibility in recognition of the high voluntary input to the festivals sector. • Enjoy a remuneration package designed to attract and retain the highest calibre candidate for this unique professional opportunity in Irish tourism.
