Spain has lifted all its COVID-19 health controls except for travelers arriving from the People's Republic of China. All passengers arriving in Spain by air from China must undergo a health control at the first point of entry that will include, at least, a temperature control, a documentary check and a visual check on their condition. The documentary control involves the check of an EU Digital COVID Certificate or equivalent or a certificate of SARSCoV2 diagnostic test with negative result. For more information, see here.

1. Girona-Costa Brava Airport (GRO)

Girona Airport is located just 13km from the city center and serves direct flights to many European cities.  You can get to the city center:

• By bus: There is a regular bus service, Bus line 607 operated by Sagalés, that runs from the airport to the city center which takes about 25 minutes. A one-way ticket costs 2.75€. Please consult Sagalés’ website and timetable for more information.
• By taxi: The taxis located at the official stand in the airport belong to the town of Vilobí d’Onyar and provide services to the various towns in the province and surroundings. 2. Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN)

There are several options to get from Barcelona Airport to Girona. 

Our recommendation:

• By train: Getting to Girona from Barcelona Airport by train first requires taking a train, metro, bus or taxi to the center of Barcelona (station Barcelona Sants/ Estació Sants):
  
  By train - From Terminal 2, you can take the Barcelona Airport Train R2 Nord to Estació Sants where you will find regional AVANT and AVE train lines to Girona. If you arrive at Terminal 1, a free shuttle bus is available to Terminal 2. 
  By metro - Metro line L9 connects the city to Barcelona El Prat airport on the L9 Sud section. L5 and L3 connect L9 to Barcelona Sants Train Station.
  By bus - there are 24h-buses that run from the airport to Barcelona Sants/ Estació Sants.
  By taxi - The car drive takes 30 minutes and costs about 20€ - 40€.
  
  From Barcelona Sants/ Estació Sants, the train ride to Girona can take between 40 minutes and 2 hours and may price from 9€ to 63€, depending on whether you take the regional, AVANT or AVE trains. We recommend you to use the AVE trains as they are the fastest and you can book them in advance. If you have a late arrival to Barcelona, you might want to consider staying at a hotel nearby the station.

Other options:

• By bus: Sagalés Bus Line 602 leaves Terminal 1 Andenes and Terminal 2 three times per day and travels to Girona Estació d’Autobusos. The journey takes around 2 hours and 30 minutes and costs 19€. You can buy tickets here.
• By car: AP7 towards France. Girona exit. Approximated distance from Barcelona: 100km
• By taxi: Barcelona airport taxis are operational 24 hours a day and have stands at each of the terminals.
  
  

3. Perpignan–Rivesaltes Airport (PGF)

Girona is just 110km from the Perpignan’s airport in France. 

• By bus: Alsa and Flixbus run buses from Perpignan Central Station to Girona for 9€ to 20€, which take about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
• By train: TGV INOUI trains run from Perpignan Central Station to Girona, lasting between 1 hour to 2 hours. Tickets cost 39€.
  
• By car:  A9 towards Spain. After crossing the border, continue on the AP7 motorway towards Girona.
