Programme of Festival de Mexico available on the EFA website

23 February 2010

Under the motto "Déjate transformar!" (Let yourself be transformed!) the Festival de Mexico kicks off its 26th edition on 11 March 2010. Thanks to the diversity of its events (opera, music, theatre, dance, visual arts, electronic arts, activities for children, academic workshops and round tables etc.) and its undeniably modern hallmark that refuses to lose sight of its beginnings, the festival caters to a broad range of public interests. The full programme is available on the EFA website. Each year since 1985, the festival has been organising events that foster connection and reflection in the largest Historic Downtown area on the continent. All are distinguished for their excellence, innovation, diversity and the balance they strike between tradition and the avant-garde. Among the 2010 highlights of the diverse festivals programme are: Electronic Arts Dynamic (in)position / (in)posición dinámica is the result of an unprecedented collaboration between Ars Electronica, the most important electronic arts festival at international level and Festival de México. The project includes exhibitions, conferences, workshops, and a publication. The proposals are linked to new media and technology. They revolve around the circulation of information and reflect on its use and impact on contemporary society. International Forum of Performing Arts and Music Programmers The fmx-Festival de México organises this meeting with the purpose of encouraging and promoting international artistic exchange. Sponsored by the European Commission, the meeting intends to create spaces to address topics relevant to production and promotion of performing arts at the international level. The meeting also is aimed at allowing European, Latin-American, and Canadian festival programmers to become acquainted with the wide-ranging artistic supply that the country has to offer, so that they may consider productions and concerts created in Mexico.
